Why de101 exists
I came to Germany in 2015 without any real preparation - not for the language, not for the paperwork, not for how different daily life would feel. Like many newcomers, I picked things up the hard way: confused during appointments, awkward calls, hesitant to approach people, forms I didn't understand, and the slow realisation that "knowing English" was not enough.
Over the next decade I studied here, started a career, and slowly built a life in Germany. Along the way I kept meeting people - students, professionals, partners moving here for studies or work - making the same avoidable mistakes I once made.
de101 is the resource I wish I'd had on day one: a place to learn German seriously from A1 to B1, while also understanding how Germany actually works - so you can spend your energy on building a life here, not on figuring out the basics alone.

Learners who want passive video lessons
This is a live, interactive course. If you prefer watching pre-recorded videos at your own pace, this format won't suit you.
Learners who cannot attend or practise regularly
You'll get the most from the course by attending regularly and practising between sessions.
