Why de101 exists

I came to Germany in 2015 without any real preparation - not for the language, not for the paperwork, not for how different daily life would feel. Like many newcomers, I picked things up the hard way: confused during appointments, awkward calls, hesitant to approach people, forms I didn't understand, and the slow realisation that "knowing English" was not enough.

Over the next decade I studied here, started a career, and slowly built a life in Germany. Along the way I kept meeting people - students, professionals, partners moving here for studies or work - making the same avoidable mistakes I once made.

de101 is the resource I wish I'd had on day one: a place to learn German seriously from A1 to B1, while also understanding how Germany actually works - so you can spend your energy on building a life here, not on figuring out the basics alone.
