Live online courses from absolute beginner to intermediate. Each level (A1, A2, B1) is split into two parts, with a strong focus on speaking and real-life usage.

Universities and employers consistently prefer candidates who can study or work in German - even in roles advertised as 'English-speaking'.
EU Blue Card holders qualify after 27 months of residence with A1 German - or after just 21 months with B1. For most other skilled workers, B1 is the standard requirement.
Standard naturalisation needs B1 along with 5 years of legal residence.
The points-based route of the job-search visa needs at least A1 German (or B2 English). Higher German levels add points (A2 = 1, B1 = 2, B2 = 3), making the card much easier to obtain.

Start from zero and build the everyday basics - introduce yourself, handle simple situations, and understand short, clear German.
After A1.1 you can introduce yourself, ask and answer simple personal questions, and handle short everyday exchanges about people, places, and food.
After A1.2 you can talk about your daily routine, make appointments, describe your home and travel plans, and manage simple conversations with more confidence.
Move from words to sentences. Handle the everyday moments of life in Germany - work, shopping, travel, health and short personal stories.
After A2.1 you can talk about the past, your work and studies, daily routines and shopping, and handle calls and appointments at the office.
After A2.2 you can talk about travel, places and people, healthy living, and share opinions on familiar topics like media, environment and technology.
Express yourself on a wider range of topics, deal with most situations that come up at work and in daily life, and tell stories about experiences, plans and opinions.
After B1.1 you can talk about your work life and free time in detail, discuss media and advertising, describe past experiences, and make complaints politely.
After B1.2 you can talk about learning and education, travel and transport, feelings and personal traits, and share food, recipes and invitations in a natural way.
