FAQ

Questions, answered

Clear answers about levels, live classes, placement, payment, and what to expect before you join de101.

Who is this program for?

de101 is designed for students planning to study in Germany, professionals aiming to enter the German job market, and anyone who wants to build a strong German foundation (A1, A2, B1) and understand how life in Germany actually works. No prior knowledge of German is required for A1.1.

Are the courses free?

No. de101 courses are paid. For current pricing and available payment options, please get in touch directly - I'll share all the details with you.

How do I enroll and pay?

Use the contact form on this site (or email info@de101.info) to start enrollment. I'll get back to you with the next steps and payment details.

What makes this program different from regular German classes?

Most language classes stay close to the book. de101 puts the focus on the German actually used in Germany - daily situations like housing, transport, authorities and work - taught by someone who lives and works here, not just a language teacher. You get practical guidance alongside language learning.

Which levels are offered?

de101 currently offers A1, A2 and B1. Each level is split into two parts - for example, A1 is made up of A1.1 and A1.2. Participants usually start at the level that fits them and continue step by step.

Do I need any prior German knowledge?

No. The A1.1 course is designed for absolute beginners. If you already have some knowledge of the German language, take the de101 placement test to find the suitable course for you or get in touch and we'll find the right starting point for you.

Is there a placement test before I start?

If you're not sure about your level, I recommend taking the free de101 placement test - it takes about 20 minutes and gives you a clear A1, A2 or B1 result with a recommended course. If you're still unsure, get in touch and we'll figure it out together.

What language is used to teach - English or German?

German is the main medium of instruction from day one - that's how you learn fastest. English is used only when absolutely necessary to clarify something.

Can you explain concepts in Kashmiri, Urdu or Hindi, if required?

German remains the main classroom language, but difficult grammar, cultural context or confusing moments can be clarified in Kashmiri, Urdu or Hindi when needed. You should not feel stuck just because one explanation did not land the first time.

What is the duration and format of each course?

Each course runs over 4 weekends with live online classes - 8 classes of 3 hours each, in a small group of maximum 10 participants - designed to allow plenty of interaction and speaking practice.

How are the live classes conducted?

All live classes take place on Google Meet. You'll receive the link before each class - no special software required, just a browser.

Will the course prepare me to pass Goethe or similar exams?

The courses follow CEFR levels (A1, A2, B1), the same framework used by Goethe-Institut and similar exams. While the focus is on practical German and real-life communication, the courses also support preparation for exams at the corresponding level.

Will there be guidance about studying or working in Germany?

Yes. Alongside language learning, you'll get clarity on studying in Germany, the basics of entering the German job market, an understanding of German culture, rules and authorities, and honest, experience-based answers - no consultancy promises.

Is this a consultancy or placement service?

No. de101 is not a visa consultancy or job placement service. The focus is on language skills plus system understanding - the essential foundations for success in Germany.

What if I miss a class?

What is the refund policy if the course isn't right for me?

If you're not satisfied after the first class, I'll offer you a full refund - no questions asked. After that, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.
